Studio

Mead Quin
Principal & Founder
With over two decades of experience in fine art and design, Mead leads the studio with a heartfelt approach and an artist’s eye. Her guiding vision is to design for well-being and inspired living so clients may relax into their most treasured place on earth.
Since establishing her eponymous interior design firm in 2013, Mead Quin has become one of the Bay Area’s most sought after interior designers. Her portfolio of clients includes Bay Area tech entrepreneurs and leading innovators, spanning from Marin County and Oakland to San Francisco and Atherton.
Prior to striking out on her own, Mead had the opportunity to work for, and learn from, Martha Angus and Grant K. Gibson. Mead graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and spent the first several years of her professional career as a portrait artist. Her work has earned her praise in media outlets including Interiors, House Beautiful, Marin at Home Magazine, California Home and Design, and The San Francisco Chronicle.

Tabatha Sloggett
Controller
In her role as controller, Tabatha uses her technical skill set to proactively evaluate and manage the studio’s operations. Through thoughtful analysis and communications, she sets the stage for the studio’s sustained success, allowing the entire design team to be at their best. Solutions-oriented and resourceful, her superpower is her gift for calm, empathetic connections.

Steven Lopez
Studio Director
Steven brings to his role as Studio Director over 15 years of experience in technology and the visual arts, deftly orchestrating processes, building programs and forming successful teams. With an easy-going manner combined with passion and organizational skill, an infectious sense of optimism and possibility, and a genuine joy in helping others, Steven is invaluable to the studio’s culture and ongoing success.

Victor Fernandes
Design Director
Victor brings over 12 years of experience working in some of the Bay Area’s most respected design firms to his role as the studio’s design director. With his passion for design, he is driven to bring a positive impact on all aspects of the lives of his clients, from their physical comfort to their emotional well-being and their relationships with others. His innate leadership skills stem from a calibrated balance of kindness and determination, and he cites his capacity to multitask — keeping a great number of (metaphorical) plates in the air — as his superpower.

Stephen Stout
Senior Designer
As a senior designer, Stephen takes a comprehensive, multi-layered approach to bring the optimal balance of form and function to every design challenge. Using skills honed working with some of San Francisco’s most respected studios, Stephen brings his passion, curiosity and knowledge of design to every project he tackles. Deeply empathetic, his favorite moments are those spent with family and friends, and he hopes to leave the world a more beautiful place than he found it.

Anna Turpit
Designer
A valued member of the Mead Quin studio since 2015, Anna personifies the ethos of the studio: focused yet laid-back, driven but always kind. She defines success as “happy clients, happy vendors, happy team, beautiful result.”

Becca Silber
Designer
In just three years, Becca has assembled an impressive array of industry experience. Organized, focused and persistent, she welcomes every opportunity to expand her knowledge and take on new challenges. Passionate about sustainability, Becca’s goal is to help clients embrace materials and products that are clean, high quality and lasting.

Hannah Gipperich
Designer
Warm and approachable, Hannah brings her superpower—the ability to form meaningful connections—to everything she does. Her circuitous route to interior design—eight years of design experience preceded by a degree in linguistics and even a stint as a makeup artist—give her a well-rounded skill set and a broad perspective. Above all, Hannah believes that creating beauty—whether through design, art, food, or any creative outlet—is ultimately about building human connection and shared experience. This core belief fuels her every single day.

Lauren Perez
Junior Designer
Lauren is passionate about designing spaces that are both beautiful and a perfect fit for the needs of each client. She finds joy in making clients feel at home, merging attention to detail with a talent for meticulous planning. Kind and curious, with an adventurous spirit, she enjoys experiencing new environments and cultures, bringing her experience back to inform a timeless approach to design.

Ethan Leon
Junior Designer
New to the studio in Fall 2024, Ethan brings to the MQ team three years of industry experience, along with a personable and collaborative nature balanced by diligence and a determination to find creative solutions to every design challenge. Curious, open-minded and motivated by interpersonal relationships, he gives his all and has quickly become an integral member of the studio team.

Ankitha Jayanthi
Junior Designer
Ankitha brings a wealth of design experience, both in India and in the United States, to her role at Mead Quin. Curious by nature and caring in her approach, she enjoys guiding projects from early concepts through completion. Her creativity extends beyond design into everyday life from cooking to making thoughtful, sustainable choices. She believes in leading with intention and positivity, inspired by her favorite quote from Paulo Coelho: “When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

Nathan Ornell
Assistant Designer
Calm and organized, Nathan finds joy in making those around him feel valued. As the studio assistant at Mead Quin, he loves working with the creative team to help them bring projects to life, and continues that passion at home through DIY projects. With a sense of quiet confidence, Nathan keeps the studio’s wheels turning smoothly.

Antwan Adams
Studio Coordinator
Eager, optimistic, adaptable, and kind, Antwan brings a sense of positive energy to the Mead Quin studio. In his words, “every day is a new chapter to evolve, learn something new, and create something wonderful that leaves the world a bit brighter.” Proud to be working in an industry he has longed dreamed of, he works to keep the studio humming while leaving a lasting impact on his fellow staff, industry partners and clients. It comes as no surprise to those who know him that his favorite quote comes from the irrepressible Dory in Finding Nemo: “Just keep swimming!”
